The Landcare Wild Adventure is a weekend hike, bike & canoe journey over the coastal range. A great chance to meet friends from other schools and get to know them as part of a supportive team travelling on an adventure together. Evening campfires are a feature of the journey.
The adventure starts at Quaama Hall 5pm Friday where mountain bikes are loaded on the crossing camping trailer. A twilight bushwalk soon after leads to a remote mountain tent camp.
Day two is a ridgetop mountain bike ride and descent to The Crossing camp with time along the way to find out more about koalas and koala habitat.
In the afternoon the group will learn about the camp’s sustainable design and help run the camp. The Landcare Wild Adventure includes tree planting on the river habitat corridor near the camp as well as preparation and training for the final river journey.
The last day is a canoe journey for 1pm pick-up at the bridge boat ramp in Bermagui.
This program is sponsored by the Far South Coast Landcare Association Inc.
